Last night, I counted all the stars
I was thinking of you, my eyes closed
In the silence, I was in darkness
Yet, in broad daylight, the seagulls were crying!
You passed through me
In the chill of a cold wind
Like a warm cup of tea
You burned my throat as you went by!
The loneliness that covered me like a thick quilt
Was suffocating me that night
You were like the north wind blowing from the sea
Wiping away all my sweat as you passed by!
Who knows, maybe you’re reading my poem
Your eyes following my lines
But I don’t even cross your mind, my love
You read through our love in one breath and move on
You’re my tiny, innocent sparrow
And your hawk-like gaze pierces me
You pass through my heart like a pang
And land in my stomach like a punch!
In the battle between my mind and heart
I never forgot you, not even for a moment
I’d die and leave, but
The thought of leaving you is what tears me apart!
